AccessABILITY Software Announces the Release of the 508 WizardT for Visual C++ and Limited Time Special Offer Pricing Site Licenses as low as $4,999
San Diego, CA - February 5, 2004 - AccessABILTY Software announced today that it has released the 508 Wizard for Visual C++, it's third product of the 508 Wizard product suite. The suite features development tools that scan the source code of desktop and client/server applications to help automate the identification and validation of Section 508 accessibility errors in accordance with the Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
"We are excited about the release of the 508 Wizard for Visual C++ to meet the increasing demand of our customer base. Most Federal agencies and large corporations have a need to write and test software in an accessible manner across many software languages. Adding the Visual C++ version to our Java and Visual Basic product suite will help round out the accessibility needs for most of these organizations as it relates to desktop and client/server applications" said Dan Bailey, President of AccessABILITY Software.
The 508 Wizard's innovative methodology inserts testing early into the software development process to allow for accessibility to be considered from the beginning. This approach greatly reduces the burden of manual testing and remediation and most importantly, results in more accessible software.
The 508 Wizard's extensive integrated help system is designed to assist Visual C++ developers in understanding Section 508 requirements and through repeated usage of the tool, aid them in understanding how to build accessible Visual C++ applications.
"The special pricing is aimed at allowing Federal Agencies and other Organizations to cost effectively do everything they can do to help insure that they are adhering to Section 508. One thing that we have realized is that cost should not be an impediment to assisting these organizations with their Accessibility strategy" added Bailey .
About the 508 Wizard
The 508 WizardT development tool was introduced to facilitate an easy and cost effective way for government organizations, systems integrators and private software companies to comply with the requirements of Section 508 as mandated by the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. 794d). According to amendments passed in 1998, Section 508 requires that all Federal agencies and organizations selling software products to the Federal Government make electronic and information technology accessible to employees and individuals with disabilities who utilize government information.
Section 508, an amendment to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, requires electronic and information technology that is used, developed, and procured by the Federal government to be accessible to people with disabilities.
Key features of the Section 508 Wizard include:
- Automatically Scans source code for all 1194.21 paragraph A-L Section 508 violations;
- Identifies the precise location in the source code of the accessibility errors and allows for immediate remediation;
